How Orkney’s seagrass meadows are bringing new life to the Firth of Forth

25 July 2024

Venue: Stromness Museum from 19:30 to 20:30

Join the team from Restoration Forth, an ambitious project to restore native oysters and seagrass meadows in the Firth of Forth, to find out more about how Orkney’s seagrass meadows are playing a vital role in helping them improve the environment. The team have been collecting seagrass from Orkney each summer since 2022; hear an update on how that seagrass has been used and the impact it is having on the environment. There will also be a chance to see historic herbarium specimens of seagrass collected in Orkney from Stromness Museum’s collection.
