Shoreline Rambles
The shoreline rambles connect the Museum's natural history collection with the Stromness shoreline. You'll get a sneak peek at some of the research collections in the museum before heading outdoors to ramble along the Stromness coast, visiting beaches to find out more about the plants and animals which live there. Stromatolites, seashells and seaweed, as well as coastal plants will all be encountered.
It involves walking on uneven surfaces and being on your feet for 2 hours. Please come dressed for the weather and with sturdy outdoor footwear.
Children are welcomed - Children over approx 6 years will get the most from the experience.
Access requirements
The upstairs of the Natural History gallery is accessed via a spiral staircase. A chair lift is available. However, the walk takes place on uneven ground.
