Class: Bivalvia. 9 specimens with both sides still connected. 1 specimen also has one very small bivalve inside it, possibly Parvicardium pinnulatum but it is obscured so difficult to identify accurately. Off-white and a rounded, irregular rectangle in shape. More wedge shaped than H.rugosa Also has very well defined concentric ridges. Similar to Hiatella rugosa this species can be found in bore holes in soft rock types and attached to algae holdfasts.
