Class: Bivalvia. 5 specimens. All have both valves still connected. Large, oval shaped and thick, these shells have clear concentric ridges and visible growth lines. The outer surface is a glossy dark yellow; light brown which darkens with age. The topmost layer (the periostracum) peels away easily. Can be found in sands and silts off shore but prefers shallower waters.
