Possibly deer? Very fine, pale hide. Front panel decorated with red, blue (almost completely faded) and white quillwork in a line and three petal design. Three separate fringes, one from the front panel, one at the side of the case attached to the panel and one at the tapered end. The fringe on the front panel has loops at the ends in red, faded blue and white. All fringes have quill wrapping in white quills to give a striped effect. There is a simple loop on the back to attach the knife to a belt.
