Traditionally build vernacular strawbacked chair with unusual carved heart shaped finials at the top uprights of the chair and the arms and supporting stiles are ornamentally carved. The straw back is also deeper and wider than a normal straw backed chair. The straw back is coming away from the stile on the left hand side. The seat has a solid back board which extends down to the floor at the back but has 3 plain stretchers joining the front legs and sides to the back. The back is sewn into the stiles and the wooden frame is riveted together.
