A view of part of the garden at photographer W.H. Hourston's studio, Stromness. Date unknown. The Buddha was reputedly brought home to Stromness by a sea captain in the mid 1800s. It was left neglected on Clouston's Pier for many years before being rescued by Willie Hourston.
